on the air

(static wisps off the hoarse speakers, perched atop a magazine stack.)

heading home through the night rain, listening to chrysalis - she's green on blast... cool air and bright lights... oh yeah. this is the life

wait a second mandy
please let me take you home

somebody loves you and you'll make it to heaven someday
somebody loves you

fool, all you touch on this turning dream
is either gonna be burned or buried

all your jewelry goes around from town to town
all your pretty ones, i'm not gonna say where they are now

learning how we're supposed to talk
i am a makeshift confidant
making sure we get along

but i'm nodding off
i'm nodding off and on

he says "it's right on track"
he says "it's right on track"

phonetics on and on by horsegirl has been stuck in my head for the past week... not an album i expected to like! simple lyrics which generally turns me off but they're really catchy

saw an early screening of happyend and ughh the soundtrack... thank you lia ouyang rusli

two, four, six, eight
they walk in two's
da-da-da-da-da-da

presently obsessed with slacker by bugcatcher. such nice sound. silly but emotionally charged lyrics. i don't really know where i found it...?

i don't wanna hear you
i don't wanna see you say
good-bye
good-bye

spent most of the day dissolving to apple man but eventually got rescued by lost & found by free range. clear, gentle, like a summer drizzle. full of need but not forceful. i'm too tired to inspect the lyrics but what does catch on my consciousness hums like crystal

newly enchanted by god gave him a wolf's heart. sun is poison draw from a similar set of metaphors to me; i fuck with worthlessness and resentment and reconciliation with the father. catchy melodies, too, and sharp lyrics. it's a shame i haven't been able to get into any of their other stuff but i'll hold out hope and try again

imagining a new disco elysium game with teethe composing... magic of the sale has such a similar sound to the sea power ost but with such an interesting folk tilt. ethereal. beautiful. haunting. incredible atmosphere. if i ever find myself in a band i want my music to sound like this

a little sad the new bugslam album has lost much of the forespi influence from this is all there is but i'm interested in the new direction (i.e. french). liked SULLY best. skimmed swim into the sound for the first time in a while, found some stuff to occupy me over the next week... checked out careful gaze's one day this will let you go which goes crazy(!) at the end but didn't interest me much otherwise
